Special Projects
Austin Ayni Committee
- For the past several years in collaboration with the Austin Ayni Committee donors from Austin, Texas and Central Texas have generously supported multiple schools and literacy programs in Northern Afghanistan. Help them continue in their efforts in 2012. Specifically, the group hopes to raise funding for:
- The operating costs of the new computer program for girls and women and for the cost of finishing the basement of the new classroom addition at the girls’ school
- Funding for teacher transportation and a canopy to cover the water tank at our partner rural boys’ school that we funded several years ago (in summer, the water gets so hot it’s almost unusable)
- Writing supplies and operating costs for the rural village Woman’s Literacy Center

Sitka, Alaska-Afghan School Project
Join Sitka, 
Alaska in their community effort to raise over $60,000 to rebuild and expand a girls’ school in Balkh Province, Afghanistan.Funds will build 4 classrooms, buy desks & chairs, equip a literacy center for older women, replace crumbled mud walls and temporary tents damaged due to extreme weather.
